Canberra Speech and Language offer personalised speech pathology services for children and adolescents. Special areas of clinical interest at Canberra Speech and Language are speech difficulties (cleft palate, CAS, phonological disorder), early language (late talking), bilingualism and hearing impairment.
We offer initial diagnostic assessment for children and adolescents with the following difficulties:
speech sound difficulties
language and literacy difficulties
We can also provide assessment for adults with speech and language difficulties that are residual from childhood.
Therapy is individualised to each child and takes place in the clinic or via telehealth with home practice activities. Home and preschool/school visits are not currently offered.
Therapy aims to be family-centred and is based on current evidence and best practice.
Collaboration and consultation with other health professionals and teachers may occur in order to work effectively towards a child's communication goals.
Parent information sessions and small group therapy sessions will be run in 2022.
Watch this space for upcoming groups.
